Henry point Lake House

Sited on a hillside overlooking Hayden Lake, the existing cabin received intensive reprogramming and a loft addition. The house now connects family and friends to the landscape through a series of decks and operable facades that create indoor-outdoor gathering spaces.
Durable materials — fir, concrete, steel, and basalt — take on the colors and patina of Northern Idaho and help mediate the extreme seasonal conditions at the lake’s edge. Much of the wood was salvaged from an eastern Washington grain silo built in the early 1900s and milled specifically for the cabin.
